Can disposable diapers cause babies to become bow-legged?
Question by entirelyofpossibility: Can disposable diapers cause babies to become bow-legged?
My Chinese mother in law keeps telling me that my baby will be bow-legged because he uses disposable diaper. I use cloth diapers at home and disposable in going out but the Chinese way doesn’t even use diapers. They have pants with holes where the pee can come out. They hold the babies over trashcans to pee. I don’t want to see that happen to my baby. My mother in law is also worried that the disposable diaper is too hot in the summer.
Hahaha. That’s what I do when I’m with my in laws – let him be without a diaper and then he pees and poos all over their floor and bed but it’s completely okay with them. They don’t go rushing to put on a nappy. I guess for the Chinese it’s perfectly normal and acceptable for the baby to pee and poo anywhere as in anywhere.

What? That’s bullshit. Disposable diapers wouldn’t make your babies become bow-legged. If that was true then all of our babies would become bow-legged now..

We use Fuzzi Bunz, and we love them. We haven’t tried any other brands.
The benefits are:
1. environmentally friendly
2. saves you money in the long term
3. better for baby; fewer rashes
4. baby will probably potty train sooner
5. no running out at the last minute because you ran out of diapers
6. cuter than disposables
Yes, there is an expense up front, but they will pay for themselves in the first year. And they’ll save you a ton of money over all the kids you use them for!
